Producing Red Ginger and Lemongrass Powder: My Experience in English Practicum Exam


As a culinary enthusiast, I was excited to participate in the English practicum exam that required me to produce red ginger and lemongrass powder. This experience not only challenged my language skills but also allowed me to explore the process of producing spice powders.


Firstly, I gathered the ingredients for the production of red ginger powder which included fresh red ginger roots, a food dehydrator, and a blender. I washed and peeled the ginger roots before cutting them into thin slices. Then, I placed the ginger slices on the food dehydrator trays and set the temperature to 60°C. After 24 hours, the ginger slices had dried and become crispy. I blended the ginger slices into a fine powder and sifted it to ensure a smooth consistency.


Next, I moved on to the production of lemongrass powder. I used fresh lemongrass stalks and repeated the same process as the red ginger powder. After 24 hours of dehydration, the lemongrass stalks had become brittle and dry. I blended the stalks and sifted the powder to obtain a smooth texture.


The English practicum exam also required me to write a report on the production process of the red ginger and lemongrass powders. I had to use proper grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure to explain each step clearly.


Through this experience, I learned the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in the production of spice powders. I also discovered that spice powders are a great way to preserve the flavor and aroma of fresh herbs and spices. The production process requires patience, precision, and proper equipment to ensure the quality of the final product.


In conclusion, the English practicum exam that required me to produce red ginger and lemongrass powders was a great opportunity to combine my language skills and culinary interests. The process of producing the powders required patience, attention to detail, and proper equipment. I learned valuable skills that I can apply in future culinary endeavors.
